I have been watching a Maggie Smith movie each day for a week now: oh God, what a busy bee she was, may she rest in peace. What a treasure! This one was very good too. The piano secene before the very end, her face while playing, her eyes: the rich (cross-eyes help too) ambivalence, both recollecting and recording the moment at the same time, all those pent-up feelings and limited relief through playing finally. And the scene where she holds Alan’s hand. I’ll probably watch this again in the future. Adding this to my “To Buy” list.
