I can’t help it but thinking: how can one bad apple spoil the whole bunch? Watched all 3 first eps and am both fascinated and cringing about the terribly bad acting (even from the renowned actresses but KK is simply abysmal), lousy writing and bad taste at the same time. Product placement all over and partly like watching a commercial of a plastic surgeon-wifey. I gave it 1 star and will most probably watch the next eps. Is this a contradiction? Indeed! But that’s what’s trash TV is about.

Hostiles (2018)
Honest Review 4 points 1 month ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Very enjoyable movie to watch. A major complaint though is the conveyance of time. The movie probably transpires over a month or more seeing how they talk about a months worth of rations before leaving. However when watching in real time it seems as though the trip took a week or so. So the complete 180 of feelings that Christian Bales character has just doesn’t seem authentic but rather forced for the narrative. Same with Rosamund Pike’s character. They both start out absolutely loathing Natives but after, again, what seems like a week, maybe 2 at most, they now kill for them and even adopt one????
If you don’t know the concept of how slow traveling by horse is and take major note of them saying they have over a months rations of food. You don’t really feel the emotional change that happens with the characters. If they would of conveyed this more (with growing beards, mentioning of food left, or just out right saying it) it would of helped the message more and made it more impactful. 7/10

Maybe. But I feel like comparing Julius Cesare to modern a day politicians is a large discredit to him. He was one of the greatest leaders to ever exist.

Alien 7 points 1 month ago.

Caesar took power because the senate were powerless to enforce checks and balances, despite all the laws he broke. In the end, the only way he could be stopped was by assassination.
The only thing great was the fear he instilled.

I was struck by the characterizations of Julius Caesar and Nero. According to the episode Caesar was a showman who became well known to the elites and the general public as a big entertainment promoter of spectacles who used his connections and fame from producing spectacles as a strategy to rise in politics. He was known for over the top flourishes like adding polished silver to gladiator armor to make it glint in the sunlight. His combination of entertainment and politics was so successful that after 20 years they made him dictator for life. That all sounds very familiar. Nero was the other side of the coin — he was mainly interested in entertaining himself and his friends and seeing how far he could keep pushing the envelope. poured a lot of money into constructing a huge amphitheater meeting his own specific designs and preferences, and the senate wasn’t too happy with his grandiose behavior. He insisted that his amphitheater had to be the largest amphitheater in the world. He liked hanging out with celebrities and had a favorite gladiator. This also all sounds extremely familiar. The couple of decades that all of this was happening, Rome slid from republican government to autocracy followed by imperial rule.

I dont know why but First Contact felt watered down in comparison to Generations and this one feels watered down in comparison to First Contact, I still enjoyed it though, onto Nemesis, then Picard I think.

Star Trek: First Contact (1996)

A really good movie but doesn’t compare to Generations, Generations was such a spectacle and gave us everything Star Trek is only new and improved complete with epic space battles.

The above is a common, ā€œbestā€ viewing order.. I took home a torrent to get a better res for this and it also had this order.. It ended in a naturally cool and satisfactory way.
From what I have understood in the comments here Serenity the Movie is next, AFTER the series.

It depends on the viewing order one choose. There are an ā€œultimateā€ viewing order that krl246 listed in their comment here and that also are in the 1080p torrents
I loaded. I’m not in any ways suggesting that this is ultimate for you, but it certainly worked for me, ending with a good last sentence.. That’s what.
