Hell or High Water (2016)
Honest Review 6 points 1 month ago.

Been long enough that I only remembered 1-2 scenes in this. So was basically like the first time again. Very good movie. The flow is so smooth and the story so tight that it is over before you know it. Chris Pine, Ben Foster, and Jeff Bridges all owned their roles. You really feel for them. 8/10
And F the banks, Wall Street, and the Government bail out. Bunch of horse sht.

Pretty sure anyone born in the last 30 years won’t get most of this. “takes one to know one” I don’t think that’s a thing anymore. But it was.

Oh, they’re pretty bad! Not that I imagine there’s a lot of high quality literary erotica out there, but… People in the BDSM scene are pretty split over what to make of them. There’s one contingent that likes to laugh at how unrealistic they are (psychologically, I mean), and another who quietly pout about the fact, because Sleeping Beauty is why they got into the scene in the first place. :-D

I had a hard time figuring out all of the ghosts at first, but the writing gets better and they seem to get better with their characters. So no favorites for me…they all delivered some good laughs.

Seems like the rich, corrupt government leaders, religious leaders and tycoons want to destroy the idea of any Robin Hood who would rob from the rich and give back to the poor, by making every remake suck so bad nobody will watch them and get any ideas.

Bravo!!! The single best arc out of the three I have watched so far. There is so much to talk about here, impossible to touch base on it all. One of the things that stood out to me in this episode was how Stewart would constantly stutter trying to explain his plight, in complete contrast to how was as captain on The Enterprise. I am moving onto the three feature films from here, following that I will watch Picard, then Enterprise and from there I am not sure, I HAVE decided I will watch SNW, I hope I don’t regret that decision, I think if I DO watch Lower Decks (or any other animated features), it will be after I finish the rest of the franchise. I can confidently say I’m a Trek superfan, I’ve already read up on all the different classes of starships and learning things such as USS Voyager is an Intrepid class starship and is one of the first that is capable of atmospheric landing, something many starships can’t do. What the deflector array is and does, types of phaser and torpedo arrays, and every manor of techno babble I could fill my head with, the meaning of the pips on uniform collars across all franchises and so on, anyway, we love it here.

Why would I ever want to do that lol, but thanks for filling me in, I was worried alot of what made Trek, Trek would get lost as the years went along.

ct451 3 points 1 month ago.

There are good years and bad years. Kurtzman’s attempts were hit or miss. The films stalled at Paramount so who knows what will come out on the other side.
On a positive note, the films with TOS cast are a good way to introduce yourself to the original crew without watching the whole series. They do pop up from time to time.

In season 2, Josh Duhamel’s half-brother will be a new character. Steve Howey, who is currently in High Potential, will be the new character. So, does this mean Howey will be leaving High Potential? So far, I’ve not liked the new character in High Potential. Guess we’ll have to wait and see as to what happens in HP.

It is in English and Italian in parts. I did at one point have to use another site to get subtitles. As you know I hate subtitles, but this show was worth the effort.

greyfur 1 points 1 month ago.

I can’t stand subs. Blind in my right eye since birth, so to me it’s read the subs, or watch the movie or show. Either or. I don’t mind dubbed, as long as it’s accurate. Might have to check out one of my other sites that has this dubbed in English, just for that reason.

Star Trek: Generations (1994)

So off the hop, I love the way Kirk said absolutely ZIP until he was asked too, it show’s his deep respect for Star Fleet protocol and command structure. I will update my comment as the movie unfolds. These new terminals are nice to look at to, they actually having moving bits :). Oh hi! Ensign Vasques.

This movie has much darker tone than we are used to seeing in the Trek series. Data’s face when he had his laughing fit was legitimately haunting. An if I don’t say so myself, Klingon women are hot af.

Data’s Life forms song LMFAO! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLx_MfJjEQM
Apparently it was completely improvised by Spiner.

Just finished the movie, there’s way too much that happened to put in a simple review here. I don’t know what the general opinion of Trek fans is in regards to this film, but for me having seen in this order,
DS9, Voyager, Scattered episodes of TOS about 50 or 60 of em, this, is the everything Star Trek at it’s best and in some ways better. A truly breath taking cinematic experience, the encounter with the Klingon vessel was a spectacle that I had to watch twice, even D’Eanna went from being an imposing Karen to an officer that only really speaks when spoken too, takes command of the ships flight controls and stayed calm in the face of chaos and almost certain death, she was worthy of her pips in this movie unlike her entire presence on TNG. I laughed, I cheered, my jaw hit the floor, I cried, Bravo!!!!!!!

Was this better then the first episode? Have not watched this one yet, had not decided yet if I was just going to give up on this or not, was waiting on people to comment on it first, the first episode kind of disappointed me more then a little. A spoiler or two won’t hurt my limited ‘feelz’, might even motivate me to watch it. Been thinking about slow Horses recently, a lot of people feel that is a worthy show, and from some of the descriptions, I think I might like it.

good movie. It is the cost of not bonding with your child. It has so many consequences to the entire family. This movie has a nonlinear timeline but don’t let that stop you. It was a big surprise from John C. Riley’s usual characters, but he played the part exceptionally well and so did the son. Both the younger child and the teen the used for when he aged. Don’t know his name. I’ve had it on my watch list for a while. A rainy day was perfect for this type of movie

The idea that Saxons after the Norman Conquest were pagans is ridiculous. In most cases I am happy to ignore playing fast and loose with history. This is a bridge way, way, way too far for me to the point of being offensively stupid, and they’ve made it a central plot point. What a waste of Sean Bean and the other top talent. This is why we can’t have nice things.

Piglet 3 points 1 month ago*.

I assume we won’t be seeing Friar Tuck appear anytime soon. I don’t think I will continue with this series, it’s more for the tween generation or young 20 somethings. I only watched it for Sean Bean, and his acting is always stellar, but he can’t carry the whole cast nor the writers.
