Patrick the Pug (2019)
FiatLux 1 points 2 months ago*.

Pugs are problematic breeds. Sure, they’re cute, but most of them suffer. Because of their short noses, they have an increased risk of heatstroke during exertion, stress, and warm temperatures, as they cannot regulate their body temperature sufficiently by panting.
They have breathing problems when sleeping because they cannot get enough air when lying down and suffer from choking fits – one quarter of them therefore try to sleep sitting up.
Three quarters have problems eating, half vomit more than once a day, and one in three dogs has collapsed at least once due to breathing difficulties. The heads of unborn puppies are so big that they often cannot fit through the birth canal and can only be delivered by caesarean section. Furthermore, pugs can develop corneal inflammation due to their protruding eyes, and it can even happen that an eye falls out while playing. High blood pressure, dental and heart problems, and skin fold dermatitis are other typical ailments of today’s standard pug.

The uncritical portrayal in films and on social media fails to mention the defects and trivializes the suffering of the dogs. Poor Patrick.

I know the facts up until the “unborn puppies” part. So sad and depressing. Most flat-faced breeds suffer from the same ailments. Thanks for the info.
Before you take on the responsibility, do your research, folks!

Fortitude

A new movie called Fortitude. It has a stellar cast and Nicolas Cage is one of the cast members. It is a WWII spy movie; I will be watching it when it is released which could be a year from now. The cast includes Matthew Goode (Dept Q, A Discovery of Witches), Ed Skrein (Jurassic World: Rebirth), Jordi Mollà (Mobland), Michael Sheen (Good Omens), Paul Anderson (Peaky Blinders), Ben Kingsley (Gandhi),

Richdotcom I liked him as a canadian actor in the series The Listener where he played “ozzy” ladys man, ambulance driver and just a good soul.
I think this show got a 10x when he joined, I also liked his boyfriend, he cracked me up always.

II have finally made it to the end, I think I stopped just before it really became good before.
So I tried one more time, and binced the whole show (5seasons) in one week.
Sad that it ended but great final you not see many shows having a good ending.

Imma watch strikeback now, joe joe

oh I see. Wow that is terrible. So many of the Hollywood ladies are being diagnosed with it. It sure is sad, health vibrant middle aged women in their prime and boom they have the bodies of a 90 year old lady. I can’t imagine losing my independence at that age.

ATTENTION ALL EXPANSE FANS! There will be another season (could be a whole new limited series), and it will have the title of The Expanse: A Little Death. Good news indeed but we’ll have to wait for a release date but something to look forward to.

First, they would pick this up where they left off, he’s not dead yet in this. Second, future Ben might not be dead, he was dying, but he could always be written in a way they find a cure for him.

Cruising along here, I can’t say this show is better than DS9, both show’s are fantastic at what they do, and all of the arcs here are so interesting. Unlike DS9 there were a few characters I didn’t care for or their arcs, Kira for example, I could of done without her and her whole Bajoran arc, I get it was a central point in the series and the station did infact beloong to Bajoran’s, I just couldn’t get on board with Kira, she was so contrived and full of herself and hypocritical, anyway lol, that’s just my opinion. In short I love this series and I plan to move onto TNG and Picard there after, I noticed 7 has a role to play in Picard and I am eager to learn more about her arc being my favourite.

PZitsEZ 13 points 2 months ago.

Once you get all the way to the end, you may change your mind about whether its better than DS9. But to each his own. Getting close now.

Alien: Earth (2025) S1 E8
greyfur 1 points 2 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I’m going to put this as a spoiler for those who have not seen this episode yet. Seems to me that as a result of this the Earth is about to get taken over by both the Aliens and the child synths. This being said, how did we ever get any further along the timeline then this? I always thought that when Ripley landed on that planet on the Nostrodamus (sp?) that was the first contact with the Aliens. Well, maybe the ship that was there before here, as she did rescue the kid and the cat. Then there were a couple of movies after that, and so on. If Earth got invaded by these this early on, then we are toast before Riply got off the ground…
