TV Show:
Monty Python's Flying Circus
( 1969 )
And now for something completely different: Monty Python's Flying Circus was simply the most influential comedy program television has ever seen. Five Englishmen, all working under the constraints of conventional TV shows such as The Frost Report (for which the five Englishmen wrote), gathered together with an expatriate American in the spring of 1969 to break the rules. The result, first airing on BBC-1 on October 5, 1969, has influenced countless future men and women in the media and comedy since.

Movie:
Monty Python Live (Mostly)
( 2014 )
The reunion of the Monty Python team on stage for the first time in over 30 years, and for the last time ever, was the most anticipated production of 2014. Filmed on the final night of the run of 10 sold-out performances, live at London's O2 Arena on July 20, this film sees the five surviving members--John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Sir Michael Palin--with Carol Cleveland, perform many of their classic sketches and much-loved songs. The show also encompasses film inserts from Monty Python's Flying Circus (1969), Terry Gilliam's iconic animations, outrageous dance routines by an ensemble of 20, and a fantastic live orchestra. Featuring Stephen Hawking and Professor Brian Cox, with guest appearances by Eddie Izzard and Mike Myers, the show cements the Pythons' reputation as the most influential comedy group of all time and, more importantly, still one of the funniest. All of the favorites, with some modern twists, are included: the Dead Parrot, the Lumberjack Song, the Spanish Inquisition, Spam, Nudge Nudge, Argument, the Four Yorkshiremen, the Bruces, and a sing-along of Always Look on the Bright Side of Life as the grand finale. This is the ultimate Monty Python show.

TV Show:
Rutland Weekend Television
( 1975 )
A Rutland TV station would be pretty small, so a Rutland Weekend Television would have to be ridiculously tiny. The joke was doubly meaningful, as instead of a light entertainment budget, the show had to get by on a presentation budget. A typical episode begins with the announcer, usually with something going wrong or with something out of the ordinary. The role of the announcer would be to announce the 'programmes' (typically sketches) - many 'programmes' would lead into, or announce one of many songs and accompanying strange vignettes by Neil Innes.
