I noticed that, too; even down to her adding a bit of white to some of her outfits along the way. I figured it was done deliberately to indicated how the situation and classmate-drama really was changing her severe worldview - just a little bit:-)
liked the scene where she sat under the window in the middle of the room .. the symbolism was perfectly done..
