An excellent touch was the paintings at the start. ‘The Thing’ and ‘The Gunslinger’ being two I recognised. And the drug store is called “King’s”.
I love ‘Host of Seraphim’ by Dead Can Dance, and it’s use was perfect in this movie.
The end is awful, but we can’t have happy endings all the time.
The book’s ending was completely different; it was ambiguous with the hope of help still arriving. They should’ve stuck to the book’s ending IMO. I don’t watch this ending anymore, but I still love the film.
