That’s such a shame too because those weird little indie films are usually the best. We really lost something with the closure of video stores. Go out & rent a few videos & that was your weekend. I don’t know why streaming sites don’t recreate that vibe but they just don’t. I rarely watch movies now. Last movie I saw in the theater was the newest Indian Jones & that was just because I had seen all the others in theater so, tradition :)
Actually that’s also something he mentioned that I forgot to say. Where even if a movie doesn’t hit it big in the theater they can make up for it on the back end. Aka in sales from Video sales and rentals, which is non existent these days do to the internet like you said.
Yah, all those indie/small “cheap” movies are gone with the wind now. Shame, some of those are now cult classics and are some of the best movies.
Going to the movie store to rent were some of my best childhood memories. Nothing like it. Last time I went to the theater it was almost 20 bucks for just the ticket, no drinks or snacks. Forget that.
