First off, I couldn’t watch the CAM and the WR is out, so I found and watched that. As a very long time SK fan, I found this adaptation lacking in SK’s voice and style. It’s got carnage, but it lacks anything remotely SK. The acting is fine, but the character development is almost absent, and that is what separates SK from other horror writers. There is also a huge absence of “heart”. I’m really sad to say how lacking this is. Truly. It’s very generic and the monkey isn’t right; only readers will know this, which isn’t the main reason for my disappointment. It’s all of the elements together are nothing but loose objects strung together for shock factor. 2.5/5
