not as bad as those consumer conscious supermarket family analysis documentaries the BBC does, but still a bit sensational.. its like ‘popular’ history books are just dumbed down missing so much of the process of historiography and the actual learning. anyway, not so bad, still BBC sensational, but horizon has done a lot of good so.. its surprising to see the quality and seriousness and accessibility of the equivalent PBS in the US, as it is usually the US programming that is often more sensational and superficial. some of the best history stuff i seen was British though, an older series called ‘as it happened’ i think it was.. vast generalisations obviously
