This episode is hard to watch. Knowing what’s to come… it’s hard to be a Spike fan while watching these. I have a theory that the difference between a stalker and a crush is your feelings toward the person. This episode highlights that. Of course Spike goes about his pursuit of Buffy so poorly. He had zero success with women prior to being turned and is now trying to navigate his way into Buffy’s good graces without the benefit of a soul. I will say tho, that Spike is the better “person” over Angel. Spike strives to win Buffy’s love even tho he has no soul, no moral compass but the minute Angel loses his soul he goes right back to being an evil bastard.
