Gotcha and agreed, but, this was the mid to late 1970’s to early 1980’s in the nepotism capital of the world: a suburb of LA/Hollyweird. I’m so glad to be out of that place, I cannot tell you. Punk 4eva and eva. 🧷☠️ I’m still punk, and now I’m in Europe, so at least there’s that, well, for a while at least. I miss The Clash, The Ramones, Devo… etc.
No doubt. We grew up in those times too, not that place, but it was different worlds then & now. But early DEVO… whoa… now THAT’s Punk as it gets. Conservatives shoot kids at Kent State in Ohio, Devo is going to school there, was shot at & lost friends, so their very Anarchist response to conservative terrorism was to channel it into music, manifesting their ideas of devolution of humanity. Not as warm & fuzzy as The GoGos, but occupying the same world.
