they say western antarctic ice sheet is like a ticking time bomb and if it melts it would raise water level by 10 feet. one of my concerns are -when- cities go under, all the waste, all the infrastructure will merge with the water. anyway, nice doc with great science. i did get a little emotional :)
Actually the western Antarctic ice sheet is growing for the first time in decades. Notably, four major glaciers in the Wilkes Land–Queen Mary Land region of East Antarctica reversed their previous pattern of accelerated mass loss from 2011 to 2020 and instead showed significant mass gain during the 2021 to 2023 period.
