Just finished season 1, wasn’t sure how I was gonna like this. I have pretty much avoided Star Trek thus far, but my recent space opera binge has left me in a position where this is quite literally all there is left for me to watch in this genre, I guarantee you couldn’t find one I haven’t seen, the space opera binge I have been on is in it’s second month, so out of ALL the ST candidates, I had heard this was more similar to that of Babylon 5, and darker in tone than it’s cousins. Season 1 was surprisingly good, for the most part it’s been a “conflict of the week” format with very short story arcs lasting maybe 2 episodes at best. Hoping to learn more about Odo’s background.
I remember watching this in High School with my mom. Neither of us were diehard space fans (I enjoyed old ST reruns as a kid but couldn’t stand ST:NG) and we both loved it so much that we actually read a ton of the novels too. I haven’t seen an ep in years so maybe it’s time. I loved Odo and Kira, Dax and Quark and of course Captain Sisko. That I remember these characters 30 years later should say something. This show also has my favorite “cross-over” episode of all time and I’m not going to elaborate. If you know, you know :) I hope you keep watching & enjoying.
