Doctor Who has been dead for years. It just needs to be cancelled at this point. Some good news though, that new Librarians show is very reminiscent of classic Doctor Who. I never saw the movies or the other tnt show, but the new series will scratch the itch left by Dr. Boo-Who and his cavalcade of bad writing and identity politics.
yes bad writing - I don’t mind the “identity politics” though - the show changes with the times, and I quite like that - think of the Introduction of Sarah Jane back in the 70’s.. a woman having her own career and working as a Journalist, heavens!!! And the scene in Robot where she gets called out for wearing “pants” and not a dress!! My god! The scandal of it all! I think The BIGGER problem with the series is the lack of continuity and staying power. Ncuti was great and he should have stayed longer - at least another year - or two (Tom Baker was the Doctor for 7).. And also the length of the Companions stay is so short now… you blink and you miss them…. Back in the day… you had Jamie, Jo, Sarah Jane, Romana and even Tegan sticking around for years… and you really developed a bond with them… and it was a real event when they parted.. now, there is no real connection… all gone now and onto the new season (if there is one).. with everything new…
