“Uncut Gems” is a thoroughly engrossing, hectic character study of a diamond/jewelry broker in New York City. The look and feel of this film is frantic and chaotic. It encapsulates the personality and life-style of the broker, Howard, whose life is literally held together by what-if’s, gambles and impetuous trades, even at the expense of familial relationships, and his own reputation.
