I really liked Falling skies and Terra Nova and later on there was “under the dome” which had a little bit longer run but not by much… Just like Harthal i like a “sci-fi” show thats family or community based without all the freakyfunky/7 weird Sci-fi..Hence why i went of Fringe after a few seasons.. just went a bit of the rails for me.. i just want to watch a show and see the next episode a week later without the need to study for a week what actually went on in the show or in what dimension it was set.
Yeah I know what you mean. IMO the best examples of that were the Stargate SG-1, ST: Next Gen + DS9 series or even in some ways the original X-Files. Very ‘episodic’, occasional recurring guest characters it have some very lose on-going ‘back ground’ story/situation but all in all series that you can just pick and watch any episode and enjoy it.
