Trump doesn’t love America. He loves power and mostly he loves money. He’s scamming his base every day, selling them crap like golden sneakers and playing cards and now his meme coins. He’s a full-blown malignant narcissist who wants to be a dictator, and Stephen Miller is the white supremacist devil on his shoulder who is actually running the show. I’m all for getting the gangs and criminals out of the country, but he’s not doing that. He’s going for the low-hanging fruit, people who are here legally and doing what they are supposed to do. He has his ICE goons hanging out at courts and when LEGAL immigrants turn up for their court hearings, the judges dismiss their cases (they can’t be deported if they have an open case) and they are arrested when they step outside by masked men with ICE badges velcroed onto their jackets and sent to God knows where. That isn’t love of country, sweetie. That’s hatred of anyone brown skinned. He also hates “weak” people, so he’s going after the social security and medical care for the elderly and disabled. I don’t know if I’m going to have health care if this new bill passes the senate. Disabled people are already losing their payments, being thrown out on the streets because they can’t afford to pay rent anywhere. This is one-step away from becoming Nazi Germany, and it’s terrifying. My gardening, like your pottery, keeps me sane, but if I lose my health care, I’ll die soon anyway, so it won’t matter.
Stay warm and hang in there. This too shall pass. The universe has a way of righting itself eventually, even if it has to wipe all of us off the face of the earth to do so.
