i guess as michael douglas is pointing out that the govt and corporations are lying, and participating in countering those narratives helps generate a wellspring of resistance, as exemplified by that wonderful man ian zabarte. there should be a word that means benefiting from the downfall of others, like for profit prisons..from indigenous resistance is the term necropolitics which is pretty apt
Agreed. It’s self-evident that these are not crimes of ignorance & in fact can only be perpetrated & denied with great education.
There are probably more identical synonyms for benefiting from the downfall of others, such as indigenous words from extinct languages & cultures. For now, let us use schadenfreude, from the germanic to derive pleasure at the expense of others. Or we can just go with what we went with.
