I agree on all points. I also wonder, have we contaminated other planets with these nuclear bombs? The devastation will never be full realized. Many people may think that statement is a huge stretch but what goes up into the atmosphere can end up in the galaxy. I’ve always said that these tests are going to come back and haunt us in ways we could never imagine, until it’s too late.

High levels of radiation far beyond what we’ve created on Earth are very common in the universe. The radiation level on the surface of Mars is over 700 times that on Earth, for example. And if the Earth ever gets directly hit with a gamma ray burst from a source within the Milky Way, it will likely extinguish all life on the planet almost instantly.
