There where a few things I never liked about DS9. Too many O’Brien featured episodes, too many temporal fuckery episodes and too many dream state episodes. Still one my favorite scifi series regardless.
I feel ya. The only mirror universe that has really worked for me is (surprisingly) the one in Disco. Temporal shenanigans are the deus ex machina of all sci fi since Dr Who. And I will nevertheless sit and gobble it up like some kind of sketchy 1970’s junk food. DS9 for the win. Always.
