In Marvel Comics and associated media, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has undergone a designation shift, now being referred to as Earth-616, previously known as Earth-199999. This change was explicitly confirmed in Marvel’s official publications and within the narrative of films like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
I’ll even make it very easy. In the 616? The X-Men exist, are well known in the world at large, and many have been part of the Avengers. Wolverine fought alongside Captain America, and Nick Fury. Beast has been an Avenger even. Carol Danvers, 616? She was the 2nd Captain Marvel on the Avengers. After the Kree warrior known as Mar-Vell - yet in the MCU, Mar-Vell most certainly is not one of the earliest members… nor were Wasp or Ant-Man founding members.
Do you see how it’s so far removed from the 616, that the MCU can not be 616?
