Seems like a lot of filler. Might be in the minority on this but I could careless about family drama in a twisted metal show. How about more weird jokes and idk car battles?
In a show that has a less than 30 min run time, no it’s not filler. You may not like it, so just skip over it. I think this episode tied in the family connection in a non cringey way. So for me, it works.
