I disagree Piglet …. Gene Roddenberry would not have had any Captain in his Star Trek universe killing/destroying the unknown so easily. In fact, so many of the episodes these days are about shooting to kill first and asking questions later … while Gene Roddenberry would have asked ALL the questions first.
Uh….only relevant question for this entity was “Are we going to let it kill us or are we going to kill it?” Didn’t they kill the doomsday machiine in the OG? There may still be some of those monsters out there somewhere. Guess we’ll find out.
