And yet, having a female lead is exactly what triggers clowns today to screech about DEI and “woke”. The fact that you did not notice how people like you were being mocked in that South Park episode, showcases why people like you are suddenly upset with the series for mocking the orange clown and his cultists.
I’ve not said that this show has been overly and adversely affected by DEI policies, only that it seems that generally it’s now a more common occurrence for writers to focus on DEI/Virtue signals et al, rather than focus on the story itself. Fine if it’s a new show and that’s what they want it to be about but reviving and/or continuing fan favs and either rewriting it to pander to those that just shout the loudest or changing the overall show style. Several shows/films over the last few years have done this and have had awful reviews saying as such i.e Star Trek Discovery, Bat Women, Sex & the City revamp, Star Wars Acolyte, Newest Snow White film, The Marvels, Star Wars Ahsoka, recent Dr Who series, Means Girls revamp, Ghostbusters and the list goes on…
