I read Bob Guccione spent twice what it cost to make Star Wars.
Mixed reviews of the new version — it’s said to be more in-line with Guccione’s original vision, but some say it still drags.
The new version doesn’t just add pieces that were cut off — instead they made a completely new movie from the original footage.
I’ve got it for later — glad and hopefull it’ll be ok

Twice?? What did they spend that money on, Gypsum and Garb? It might bee that the actors wanted quite a bit to drop the clothes.. But twice the Star Wars budget is.. Uff. And yeah.. It still does drag a bit.. But I find it forgivable for the time it was made. Tintos movies all drag a bit.. It is his style. I guess he tries to be “Classic” Maybe?
Russ Mayer’s films are less classic and more of a fun than Tinto’s in my mind. And they all are classic, both Russ’s and Tinto’s. They are part of the history.
