Was there something going on around the time that this was aired maybe that I had missed in the news? This seemed way out in left field for even Stark Trek with such a heavy emphasis on colored people and how they were generally treated in the 1950s, I was abit taken aback by it. This was aired 7 years after the Rodney King incident so I don’t really understand.
One of the main writers is part of the purple people crowd. Ira Steven Behr has a history of grievance writing in just about everything he touched. This episode does nothing to further the any of the story line from previous episodes or the series as a whole. It does not even further the beginning story of its own episode. Still the costumes where cool and it was nice to see the cast out of the makeup in the show. One massive thing they got wrong. Most people back then where smokers and most would have had a cig hanging from their mouths. Back then you could even smoke in hospitals.
