My theory is that Dean Cipher is not the one who has powers. He’s just a meat suit for the prune in the hyperberic chamber. The guy in the chamber is just controlling him and only experiences the world through him. I believe their connection is not so great and he can only feel a percentage of what the person he is controlling does. That’s why he wanted to be hit hard when he was having sex with the black gal and she looked into his eyes in the bath while they were having sex. That’s also why he barely reacted to the knife in his hand and didn’t worry about being killed. It was just the person he was controlling. I believe he may be trying to advance Marie’s powers sufficiently so she can heal his damaged body fully with her power like she just saved her sister. She obviously has far more control over the body than just blood.
