The Hunger Games was way more entertaining.
The Hunger Games would not exist without this masterpiece. By masterpiece, I mean the original story from 1979. This film is a good adaptation but as is usual, it’s lacking in the translation from the source material.
Personally, I think The Hunger Games was popcorn Hollywood, this is more of a philosophical film.
