It gets really tiresome seeing Troi forcefully inject herself into every aspect of everyone’s business at every turn. Worf’s son shows up, she’s there, tell Worf how to raise his son while in the same breath saying “Worf, I would never presume to tell you how to raise your son but..”. Waltz’ in to Ten Forward, interrupts Guinan’s conversation and simply tells the little girl it’s time to go, then when Guinan say’s bye to the little girls imaginary friend, Troi gives her the stink eye. Ro Laren shows up, Troi is on her a$$ trying to dissect her at every turn and more or less makes sure that Ro knows that Troi is watching her closely. I could name a dozen other such occasions, but anyway, in a perfect script, and this is solely in my opinion, I would scratch Troi from the entire script all together and just keep Guinan as Picards go to when he needs to understand something that only a creature as old as Guinan may be able too. His guide in matters of all things superstitious and or spiritual, among tales older than some of the very stars they fly among.
