I love Ro Laren, she is everything Star Fleet complete with a checkered past, much like that of Lt. Tom Paris and Major Kira Nerys, mind you I couldn’t stand Major Kira. Not sure if Ro’s intended purpose was to bring a personality similar to Tasha Yar back on the scene, but that’s how it turned out.
Man, I hope you check out 2003 Battlestar Galactica, you will definitely dig that sci-fi. Its gritty, and intense, slams you in the cockpit. https://www.primewire.mov/tv/2363-battlestar-galactica
