I liked it personally, but I don’t think I went in with expectations - and for me things that I “Don’t like” in Star Trek and Star Wars I’d still re-watch and rather watch than 90% of scifi. For instance Star Trek: Enterprise or Solo: A Star Wars Movie.
That’s kind of my point too: Discovery doesn’t need to be judged against the old shows, it stands on its own as modern sci‑fi. If you go in without expecting it to replicate TNG or DS9, it’s actually a really solid ride.
