Very few times do screen adaptations surpass the written original. This is one of those times. Even with the minor plot changes and condensing of some of the characters (and of course the recent drastic change of killing off Alex due to problems with the actor), this show far out rates the books. The main reason why: casting. usually screen versions are one dimensional compared to the books, but in this case, I feel it is the opposite. Wes Chatham is simply BeastMode as Amos. Dominique is amazing as Naomi. Thomas Jane as Miller, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Cara Gee, Jared Harris, David Straitharn…all crushing it.
So underrated, one of the best sci-fi of our generation. I never thought I would thank Amazon for picking up a show, but they saved this one.
