Soldier (1998)

Timelines are sort of off for that to be true though.. If Bladerunner is 2019, years after synths were fighting wars in other worlds for us, Soldier they were just a few years in after being released from training, and looks like 10-15 years of Earth wars before couple stellar wars and his being dumped on planet in 2036 when they were using what appeared to be test tube babies breed with traits to fight.. So if they were related, no mention of synthetics, and the upgrades were still a human, so see why unofficial as I just don’t catch any connection. And to waste all those resources, imagine cost to ship an entire aircraft carrier with what looked like a few planes strapped to the deck..lol

The whole plot was based off of a scene cut from Blade Runner during editing where synthoids are dumped on a planet that’s a trash heap like this one. I believe the phrase Peoples used was “sidequel”. Check out the IMDB page, it is a treasure trove of trivia about this movie. It’s filled with easter eggs from other movies. I ran across it trying to find out what kind of snake they used in that one scene—the thing is beautiful. Thai viper, BTW, seriously poisonous. He wasn’t even really holding it in that one close-up. lol The reptile handlers got a lot of work after this movie and went on to help make Snakes on A Plane. But the trivia section mentions what ship that was in the junkyard and catalogues a bunch of other stuff, too, like the Liberty Bell.
