Kong: Skull Island (2017)
yellow_rose1 1 points 6 months ago.

I cannot believe I’ve let this movie completely pass me by. I think it is the best Kong movie I have ever watched. The CGI is phenomenal. The creatures are so different and well designed. John C. Reilly is one of the best characters in this story. I’m so glad I came across this today. I would recommend it to anyone that is a Kong lover and a Creature feature lover too. I am both as well

pure evil. She never deserved to be a mother. :(

yellow_rose1 1 points 6 months ago.

Yes and she seems to have lost the only adult son she has left because to continues to lie you him. I think if she would just allow herself to lose face with him and be completely honest he would forgive her and they could salvage some kind of relationship, but narcissistic personalities can not bring themselves to do that. I do hope they never let her out.

I’ve heard good things about this show, but starting the first episode I’m hit with “Previously on BSG” Apparently I need to watch the mini-series first but I can’t find any links to it here on primewire, unless I’m just missing it. Can someone provide the link to the mini-series if it’s available here? Thanks

Boraes 4 points 6 months ago.

Is a really good series. FYI there’s a couple of standalone ‘extended episodes’ e.g battlestar galactica razor (think there may be another) which are defo worth watching at the right point in the series. Plus, it’s one of those series that actually has a nice ending/wrap up at the end of the whole show rather than leaving people hanging. Plus IMO the ending is a really clever twist.

yes me too. So awful those poor kids. I can bet they knew it was coming. With Tylee I’m sure it was to silence her. She knew what happened to Charles. Then little J.J. was just in her way, probably. Evil evil evil

Uff, interesting but hard to watch due to its insane pace and strong chaotic emotions.
From what I can understand the insane vibration of the tempo in this film represent the mania stemming from the Japanese hierarchical feudal order, and also are an expression emerging or bubbling up in the process of desolvment of the same Japanese hierarchical feudal order.. Our all’s feudal order actually..
An honest expression of the stress of being under the constant threat from the arbitrarily veiled sword by mad lords and their insane henchmen. The ultimate primal scream.. Well worth a watch.. If you can take it..
A Classic.

What reported them missing? This is an obvious attempt at making a polished version of the story. She didn’t report them missing the Grandparents did. Then she lied and lied about their whereabouts and when that didn’t work she refused to say anything. It has Pat Duffy so I might give it a go. I loved him in Dallas

This is not a horror story. This is a redemption story. . . for dogs and humans.

The documentary doesn’t focus on the horrors, but the love. I cried, but it was the good kind.

If you love dogs, don’t hesitate. I think you will find it rewarding to know how many people have compassion. In these times, seeing people be good brings me to tears.

PS - I love my rescue dogs, all who came from the isolation ward at the kennel. Water, food, security and love was all they needed.

Thanks to Alien for bringing this film to my attention.

Only 5 minutes in and I already feel bad for these women. I may not agree with their religiosity, but I know what it’s like to be treated badly just because of differences. In my opinion, being different isn’t a good reason to bully or troll people. Unless their difference causes physical harm, not a single human has the right to bully them. I’d rather be viewed as weird/strange person than be a self entitled brat.

prism 0 points 6 months ago.

I think our differences should be celebrated instead of feared and/or ridiculed. :)

I was thinking about something last night. If I had to pick 5 of my favorite movies, what would they be? Three of the 5 were Stephen Kings adaptions. When I worked the overnight board shift at the radio station, (I was there by myself) I would read Stephen King books to keep me awake. When I got to the part where Annie (Kath Bates) uses the electric knife to cut off Paul’s (James Caan), I had to skip that paragraph. When I watched the movie and it came to that scene, I had to turn my head. I’ve read a lot of King’s books, and some screen writers/directors do the book justice. I’ll see how this movie pans out but will wait for a better copy to be uploaded.

Eephus (2025)
BubbaPharm.com 1 points 6 months ago.

Eephus: a slow pitch that travels in a high arc.

An unusual movie where we watch an amateur league game from start to finish. It’s an indie, low budget and has no musical soundtrack, but the unknown actors do a good job being real. Underneath I think it’s about the subtleties of male bounding. Overall, it’s a eulogy for the American baseball culture.

If you enjoy watching minor league or high school games, you might like this. I kind of did.
If you want a action packed sports film with emotion driven music, you’ll want to pass. It’s really for boomers who get these characters and people who like extra innings.

Summary: It’s Cinéma vérité.

Unfortunately the days of Pickle Rick and eating at Shoney’s are gone. Roiland and Harmon were the brain childs behind this so with them not working together on this anymore. It’s just not the same show. Easily seen in the last 2 season’s being sub par.

Sinners (2025)

Even with my, done with vampire and zombie movies attitude, I still liked this one. Good music throughout the film. Although it’s like there was two directors and one wanted to make a movie about vampires and the other about the power of music. They made this film and could not compromise or agree on the topic. Those two plots did not overlay or mesh well at all. So kinda confusing on that note, but other than that I don’t regret watching this. Enjoyed the acting even Micheal B double vision. 7/10

Hey Mike did yo see ‘Lost in La Mancha’ - 2002 ? A great doc on how

and was never completed. If I remember only about 1/3 of the film was

mikebcarguy 11 points 6 months ago.

hahaha, yeah…. And, I know this isn’t the same film he envisioned, but, it works for me. I like to think it even takes into account that earlier fiasco. And, I like to think the cycle continues, with Adam Driver’s character still being out there carrying the mantle… until, one day, he’ll pass it on.
