Can’t believe you’ve not seen it until now, but happy you’re digging it. Like the original Weir from SG-1 best though. Our fav cast members are Jewel Staite, David Hewlett (Kate’s brother) & Paul McGillion. Cast is good all the way around though & there’s a good mix of single episode adventure with serialized story arc, not unlike SG-1

Centered around the guy who ruined Pam Dawber’s career, Mark Harmon, this is a very 80’s flick. The Harmons are interesting folk. Mark’s sisters are actors. Kelly married to John DeLorean & then Kristin married to coke addict Ozzie & Harriet son Ricky Nelson, so she’s the mom of Square Pegs Tracy Nelson. Their mom Elyse Knox was a 1930s-40s actress probably best known for Mummy’s Tomb with Chaney.
Other interesting folk in this flick are Brad Hall, Julia Louis Dreyfus hubby. They met in the 80’s when they were on SNL together. Martin Short’s sister in-law Andrea Martin from SCTV, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Only Murders In The Building, etc. is in it. She’s an incredibly underrated funny lady. Up there with Carol Burnett & Gilda Radner.
Round out the cast with the beautiful sci-fi babe Madeline Stowe from PK Dick’s Impostor, Playboy Model Joan Severance from The Black Scorpion, & then Paul Stanley’s ex-girlfriend, Lesley Anne Warren. It’s an 80’s style mess that Mark deserves to be in.

Really hope this gets a Season 3. Viewership is way down, though. Of course, viewership is down on TV across the board since the pandemic ended, so there’s that. I hate that some of the main characters are leaving, but there are still so many possibilities for good stories, and some new characters might breathe more life into it.

Bogdanovich directs this loose adaptation with little Tatum O’Neal & her pop. Madeline Kahn as Miss Delight. Hillerman & Quaid also. This classic got a handful of awards. Totally grand. Just 9 years old & Tatum snagged an Oscar.

Yeah, the 1st 2 seasons were great(!) This past one has been good but not up there with the others. I dunno, they switched directors or a writer…something’s dropped in it. Maybe they weren’t expecting to do more than 2 and had to whip something more up for a third?

It’s just the first time Monk has been in a movie format. The title is Monk’s Last Case so… I did see an interview with Shalhoub and they asked him if it really was the last case and he said it wasn’t up to him. I interpreted that as him being onboard if this does well and the opportunity is offered to him. I think that they would consider rebooting the series if so.

Ok new it’d be a little cheesy and more a ‘sitcom in the wild’ than a gritty drama going in. Got about 10 mins in on the first episode to the point where we see his first face 2 face interaction with one of his lendee’s. Of course it’s a guy who’s now a woman living their ‘real self’, who promptly cold-cocks the bookie from behind (Pun not intended) and chases him off.
Yeah….just nope. Yet another show that sadly prioritising their ‘virtue signalling’ check list over story and plot. Basically 90% of the straight white male characters you’ll see are only there as comic relief side kick, to play a villain/corrupt official/sleazy guy, or be the spineless ‘yes man to everyone else’.
Writers are too busy trying to ‘make up’ for shows and films of yester year but are just going way to over the top as it’s in reverse creating as many fixed stereotype roles for anyone who does fit the current moral social campaign as they’re trying to show are now broken. Over-correcting/fixing/medicating is just as bad as under.

Agreed. Her interview here is reminiscent of the whole “Making A Murderer” sensationalism and lie. Those boys/young men are proven liars. There are huge facts that were omitted and changed, just like MAM. Oprah has always been greedy. This is disgusting.

I am a victim of child sexual abuse and there was never a moment that I thought what was done to me was not wrong. The shame I carried from the times it happened all the way into adulthood. I knew it was wrong. Oprah is a real jerk she was Michael’s friend and for her and these knuckle heads to betray him in death this way to make money is sickening to me
