Webster Hackett (Alan Mowbray), a very devious "Cosmetics King,", intent on selling a big lipstick order to buyer Edgar Pomeroy (Thurston Hall), that it will cost him a $1000 to join the association and get a booth, which is about $999 more than Miller and his roomies have between them. But Miller's beauty-parlor girl friend, Janet Wilson ('Ann Savage'), meets factory-owner P. G. Grimble (Hugh Herbert), and money is soon no issue.

1968/1976/2005/2007 "More or Less Related Incidents in Recent History" 37:50 min. Started as film in 1968 about the painting of a boutique in Greenwich Village & the scene that evolved around it. It contrasts the news of the Viet Nam war with the 60s fashion scene. A free, but bad transfer from film to video in 1975 destined the work to the closet until P.Weibel/ZKM Karlsruhe supported transfer to Digital Betacam at Das Werk, München in 2003. I filmed the rock'n roll sequences in 1967- 68 with reversal Ektachrome at 1600 ASA & passed them through an analog video echo in 1975. I finally videoed the original site in 2004 & finished editing the work in January 2005. Additional scenes were added and the sound totally reworked in 2007.

Recognizing the president of a broadcasting company,Royal C. Cummings (Maurice Cass), as he enters the elevator, Stoll and band members, with their instruments, enter it with him. THey toss out the operator and proceed to audition for the outraged Cummins , while making many up-and-down trips on the elevator. Once off the elevator he summons the police who promptly arrive and promptly arrest the studio band. Georgie Stoll (as he was most frequently billed) and his band get the gig, and a contract. The singing of Virginia Dale nee Virginia Paxton didn't hurt their chances any at all.

Elissa Landi and Charley Chase (playing Asian Charley Chan Chase) host an East Asian themed garden tea party in Hollywood. After introducing a few Hollywood luminaries who are attending the party, they present a number of musical and/or dance performances to entertain the crowd. This set of performances also includes ethnic Chinese actress Anna May Wong modeling some fashions she brought back from her first ever trip to China. Through it all, one of the guests, already inebriated, is having a few problems mixing and serving the cocktails he wants.

The documentary is an exploration of the street's expansion from the farmland where Washington bivouacked his troops to the flashy, commercial center that it is today. With historical information, musical performances and personal narratives, the film traces the rise, subsequent dilapidation, and eventual resurgence of a street that has come to represent a place where, notoriously, anything may and has happened.

Marquita Romero, a South American singer in New York, is striving to secure the release of her brother, Carlos, who has been framed on an arson charge through the conniving of the owner of a night club whose sideline racket is collecting insurance on arson fires he has created. She is aided by Steven Ward, who with the help of an investigator for the insurance company, plans to get the evidence on the racketeer by having Marquita getting a job as a singer in the nightclub. She secures the needed proof in the form of a stamp collection in the gangster's safe that the insurance had been collected on. Meanwhile, the crook's jealous girlfriend has discovered Maquita's plan and has blown the whistle on her.

Donzdorf on the edge of the Swabian mountains in Southern Germany. A village just like any other, with a pointed church spire, a supermarket and a new housing estate. But Donzdorf is the seat of "Nuclear Blast Records", one of the world's most successful independent heavy-metal record companies. The company's boss, Markus Staiger, grew up with heavy metal, like many young people in rural areas, and has turned his enthusiasm into an empire with branches in Los Angeles and other major cities. Housewives from the village work for the mail order department, sending out bloody skulls to every conceivable place in the world. Listening Sessions are held in the village pub, where the offerings are commented on by the regulars as critically as by international journalists. The film takes a look at the occasionally comical interaction of the tranquil village inhabitants with the rather crude hard rock scene. But traditional positions have shifted: whereas heavy metal once stood for rebellion against provincial traditions and conventions, it has today, far removed from urban subcultures, long become a firm and established part of life in the country.
