It's the second heat, and five brand new young cooks roll their sleeves up to face culinary superstars Poppy O'Toole and Kerth Gumbs. Facing the kitchen is a midwife from Swansea, a mechanical engineering student from Dunstable, a retirement village carer from West Bridgford, a food and hospitality student from Streatham and a lash artist from Tower Hamlets.The judges want to see the cooks' personality on a plate, one plate that tells them exactly who they are as a person and a cook. Does all of the social media hype and youthful energy in the kitchen truly spell a delicious plate of food? The battleground is once again set for the young cooks from all walks of life to put their heart on a plate and prove that they have what it takes to edge closer towards the Young MasterChef trophy.For three cooks, it's delight, as they will progress to the next round.
