Susan continues her cruise along the Rhine, and her first port of call is the pretty town of Marken. Where better than this quintessentially Dutch destination for Susan to buy some clogs? Let's just hope she doesn't have to walk too far to get back to the ship! Susan's next stop is Rotterdam and the World Heritage Site of Kinderdijk, where there are more Dutch icons to tick off her list: windmills and bicycles. But not having been on a bike for many years this could be an icon too many for Susan! The cruise continues south taking in the oldest city in the Netherlands, Nijmegen, where Susan tries not to go double Dutch as she attempts the local lingo and finds herself in a bit of bother when she is running late for the ship. The final destination along the Rhine is back in Germany - the birthplace of Beethoven: Bonn. Susan makes her tour guide debut and hosts her very own walking tour of the city with some guests from the ship. |
