Annie, already in her role as a Cuban citizen and revolutionary, starts working at the Tricontinental Conference as a translator. Her parents are heartbroken and want their daughter to return to Portugal. Nita travels to Havana in order to bring Annie back, but her mission is a failure. Mother and daughter stop communicating. The consequences of "Operation Autumn" continue to hurt Silva Pais. But the worst is yet to come: on April 25, 1974, the Portuguese revolution takes place and Annie's parents are arrested. |
