TBH I’ve felt that way since pretty much Thor/Iron Man 2. Most of the ‘more mature’ comic book Marvel stuff that Fox, Netflix and Sony did has crashed critically, commercially or both. I think Marvel has gotten the (wrong) message and has avoided adult themes while adding a bit of curse words and gore, but even Deadpool is made so that a 7-year-old can follow it.
I would like to see them go back to more stuff like Suicide Squad…that was more gritty and adult I thought, with a few good laughs included.
