That Dr. that went into the lab and into the chamber.. I did not want to see that one coming. I saw it but still denied it would actually happen. He just said he has like 6 degrees!!! Like bro.. Knowing it would happen didn’t prevent me getting traumatized from the stupidity of what I just witnessed..

i am interested in the girl that thinks she is pregnant I thought the eye did something to her or she may have some type of power ,my best guess she would hook up with the main character brother and be like blade runner plot or something like that

This show is SO frustrating. It does the Alien horror bits quite well. It’s all the stuff in between that’s poor. And the music.. Really weird choice. Doesn’t suit at all….

For me the show got off to a bad start with bad direction and some questionable acting. But it seems to have settled down and is starting to find a groove. The last 3 episodes have come a long way forward in the plot and character development. Lets see if they can keep the momentum up for the last 2 episodes of the season.

I have my towel & could really use a lift off this planet right about now….

My favorite book by him is “Last Chance to See”, a work of non-fiction. Glad I saw your comment as I can now add this to my watch list :)

It’s too bad that they have to make the character stupid to advance the plot. Otherwise, the show is decent.

In Asian cinema being light as air is a skill, it has to do with Chi, and anyone can do it through practice. Dancing in the tree tops or running across water is seen as normal, however in our culture, if someone walks on water in a story it’s called a miracle and that person is considered the Messiah. lol

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny (2016)
mikebcarguy 1 points 3 months ago*.

That is interesting. I remember seeing the movie and wondering if they included Chinese mythology, and maybe there is, but to find out the primary source material was their version of a romance novel from the 40’s…just, wow!
I also thought about the 80s movies we joked about sounding like people slapping ping-pong paddles and how they looked funny flying around the room — mostly because we’d jump on beds like that. (What’s so special about that, my sister and I do that any time our Dad gets us on the weekend and takes us to a motel?) Dumb joke. The way they flew across the bamboo in the first Crouching Tiger movie didn’t bother me like it did others — it just seemed like the same poetic license B&W movie makers took (you want it dramatic, then bring up the orchestra, bring up the lights).
I gotta watch this - Donnie Yen & Michelle Yeoh.

Sorry I must make a correction, Joan adopted twin girls, Christina and Christopher. I had no idea that there were that many children adopted by Joan. It would be horrible if all these abusive tirades were not true I feel so guilty for taking it all at face value now.

Yes, I watched it years ago and it took many by surprise considering how they disliked each other. And that dislike was clearly present with the storyline and it didn’t take much acting by them either. The dislike was very, very real.

I’ve just been researching Christina Crawford, unbeknownst to me she had a twin sister and brother that were also adopted. These siblings are saying that she made the abuse up as a way to earn money, to get attention, like talk show after talk show. It has always disturbed me that this book was not written until after Joan died. I guess we will never know what is true and what isn’t but I thought that was interesting, and wanted to share this information with my fellow Primewirians

I find that perpetuating the idea that western girls are gagging for illegal immigrants, doesn´t help.
The girl drives me mad. ¨Don´t we kill people¨. Really, we are talking about the extinction of our species, not a country squabble. Bit woke I think. I like the way the story went. But the same could have been done with 4 episodes a season. Too drawn out.

I’m a huge fan of the golden age movies. But I never cared for Joan Crawford or Bette Davis. When the book came out, I wasn’t surprised. I had a sense that she was hiding her dark side. I do think the only actor to speak out against her was Bette Davis, all others kept their opinions of her to themselves as a directive from the studio’s.

It is amazing the job this little girl and Faye Dunaway did. The performance with “little Christina” is stellar. I don’t know how they pulled a performance out of a young actress like that, she must have had an incredible coach. It has more realism than most movies. By today’s standards, well they just don’t make biodramas like this anymore

I thought it was pretty good-maybe not for everybody but well directed and acted-wavering btw comedy and should I say, “ horror” in an odd way. Keeping an open mind would help.
