Have you ever been to/spent time/lived in Thunder Bay? That is one THE most crime ridden and racists areas of Canada, not to mention how Canadians from Montreal Quebec treat others who don’t speak French or who happen to be Americans

yellow_rose1 2 points 3 months ago.

I have not been to Thunder bay, however my late husband was born and raised there. I am aware of how French speaking people in Montreal treat those that do not speak English. I went on a school trip in grade nine and yes they were horrible to us. I’ve never been back since. Thanks for bring this to my attention. I also have come across racism in Canada but not towards African Americans or Canadians

Very unfortunate for Officer Wilson at the time. Just doing his job inside the absolute horror that are these neighborhoods because of their residents behavior. Everyone with a brain knows the situation and how things unfolded and how this made up bologna struck a cord of stupidity for people to go out and still shout nonsense and protest to this day.
It is tragic for anyone to even entertain this story more so to believe it.

P.S I have no love for police and it’s clear they do what they are told whether it is right or wrong However they were beyond right in this situation and he shoulda got a little bacon metal on his chest.

This is set roughly a hundred years from now and it’s funny to see that folks are still using keyboards with their computers.

Arcangel2020 -4 points 3 months ago.

Well, if you want to be “technical” here…look at such things as Automobiles or Television or Movies/Movie Theaters. Cars and Trucks still designed off of a template that is over a hundred years; Television technology which is over 80 years old STILL operates that same way it did 8 decades ago and Movies & Movie Theaters operate the same they did a 100 years ago too.
The only thing that has changed? It the advancement in Technology, but they haven’t changed from the basic technology of when they were all created

This is very humbling to watch. I have black friends that I consider family and they consider me family too. I hate what they have to go through in southern America. It is so racially divided. In Canada we are mainly divided by class. I don’t see any racism here in my town. I just don’t understand it. We all bleed the same, hurt the same and want the same for our loved ones.

Troublesomely miscasted this one on a few people but a good movie. Very funny and lots of catch phrases to be taken from it plus even the little dun dun dun dunnn dun dun dun duun nn duhn dunn dunnn. You don’t forget that. I would recommend for kids watching with an educated adult and as well still enjoyable as an adult if you saw it as a child.

This is a tough and twisted movie. Great acting. Totally worth watching. However considering who they fought and died for without knowing the truth is just heart wrenching. Plus the obvious miscast with the woman’s child and that woman foster got involved in. Watch it once get the point of their job but as long as you don’t ask questions it’s a decent movie.

Sovereign (2025)

Wow what a great movie. It was much better than I expected. Nick Offerman played the part of a Sovereign Citizen really well, Tremblay played the part of a conflicted teenager to a tee as well. Sad story but it plays out in the streets and highways far too often in the U.S.

Lynley (2025)
Dvora 0 points 3 months ago.

I like the character of Leo Suter as DI Thomas Lynley BUT I do not like Sofia Barclay as DS Barbara Havers. She is arrogant not confident, and she does not like to play a supporting role. She would much prefer to take top billing, and it comes across on the screen. And there is no chemistry between Lynley and Havers … it feels more like they are competing for screen time. The mystery was okay, not great. The UK loves to pump out mysteries but this show feels like it is just trudging along. With so many other UK mystery shows this one barely meets the bar. For example: Vera was a top notch mystery series (very well written) while others like Father Brown and Sister Boniface are so repetitious that they can be hard to watch. Anyway, I am not sure I will add this one to my watch list …. time will tell.

First bit was great, very funny. Second bit was awful and not funny in the slightest. Was hard to watch to be honest. Even though it is still a 30 minute time slot the episodes are so short feeling now. Now it’s just two bits and a punishment.

I downloaded the whole season. But was honestly bored with them because of all the lame back stories they do. So I skipped to the semifinals that’s where I started to enjoy it. The VS tournament they did to decide the winner really shows who the best ninja is for the year.

Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025)
Kingstarr26 2 points 3 months ago.

It’s nothing beyond what you’d expect from a big budget creature feature. Typical low stakes bs, everyone the film wants you to emotionally invest in has full immunity no matter what perilous situation they find themselves in. There was no actual villain this time, it’s more a case of who the film thinks deserves to be killed off. I feel like the last four movies were designed for kids, and the film only speaks to the child audience but nothing to say to the adults in the room. You CAN make a movie with relatively scary or dark themes, kids do understand these things, not everything has to be light and friendly. You don’t need to place the good group into an immunity bubble, just so the audience can distinguish right from wrong. But I guess a lot these writing rooms think the audience are stupid. Ehh 3/10

I wish it wouldn’t jump from one time period to the next. I’m a bit lost and never played any type of video games including this one. I’ll watch a couple more episodes and maybe it will come together better so that I won’t feel so lost.

Meh, a lot of screaming and flaying about. One can see some cross contamination with “Alien” in the main monster thou. Maybe this indicate that the Alien in “The Alien” was not an Alien but rather an early Earthling?? Interesting is also that it can do dramatic shifts in size after need. NOT a Spielberg movie for sure.

Kingstarr26 2 points 3 months ago.

I love that. They introduce a new dino that actually has a cool design and they don’t do anything with it lol. Like the movie finally remembered “We’re 6 movies in, nobody’s gonna care. The children survived. Think of the children that’s the main thing.”

What a bizarre cliffhanger! I don’t know if it’s actually a cliffhanger though because that would necessitate another season, which, as of now, there are no plans for one.

An other one about an, to understate it, overbearing mother is Bad Boy Bubby by Rolf de Heer who’s films all are fantastic in my humble opinion. She keeps him locked in their basement home for 13 years with a false premise of an ongoing war. It is an insane film about the world he find outside.
