Love this new Dexter and they have fixed Harrison into a likeable character now. The dialogue is back to dexter’s best also. New blood was horrible, this is back to where Dexter needs to be. 2 more seasons now bloody brilliant.

I agree. Casting should reflect people that are enthusiasts of the game/show. American Survivor lacks in that regard.
What is it now…29 days? Pretty cheesy. The Aussies do it better with a longer run, but as Russel would say, they get too many perks i.e., off screen outhouses, raincoats, and a change of clothing.

When I first started watching this I thought I had already seen a programme about this…but, when the first tv doc covering this case mentioned as being an episode of DISAPPEARED many years ago, I realised that was what I had seen . I had no idea of anything that happened in the following years,which is why there is 4 episodes to this docu series . And ,boy is there a lot more to this case!
I am really surprised that I haven’t seen anything else prior to this.
I watch A LOT of true crime shows but this evaded me!

This show is a very slow burn. It is more soap opera/after school special with True Detective themes. If you are looking for “Jumper” style action, you will find little of it here, as that component plays a very secondary role in this first season. Hopefully the second season will pick up the pace. All in all 3/5.

As the comments are pointing out this is an Enemy Mine clone. But non the less this season seems to be on a roll for more Star Trek like stories. Pity they still script the pilot of the federations flagship as a childish rookie. Melissa Navia as Ortegas can clearly act. So it would be nice to see her move towards being a more serious Star Fleet officer.

Yes, just yesterday’s FB BROUGHT me the old intro for tv of wrestling.lots of real pyro ..that’s over 30 yrs old.i didn’t work. That gig but many others for same production company..we had many requests to come again for company yearly sales meeting etc..I’m just 1 of many techs..and was freelance just jumping in to who ever booked me first for a date..THEN 9/11 CAME after company i loved here got sold and we still had many events on books but got canceled and that lasted almost every indoor events except like Disney’s hotels and other’s that we had worked in with same crew year after year..yet..was not enough to keep company going with new owner..that’s so 😔…we all were hurting like covid..now idk if that was a show or not..seems a chopper overhead would spot him,and some folks seemed to not flinch..and that wasn’t shock.they knew or were THAT DUMB NOT TO DUCK.. TRULY another’s BAD IDEA BUT ,it got him more voters immediately that were on fence imo..
(just because we can do fx,should we hit the switch!.? If we don’t no pay!,
unless I seriously see that this effect was wrong for this venue,and would most likely start fire or injury or something to scare audience into panic mode like that station night club fire..most everyone leaves by same door they came into place,and never even notice fire extinguisher or EXIT SIGNS, and ilòk around for that still first thing,even if just starbucks!
.and I got only 1 jab,a year after almost everyone until had another indoor event..as I when not working, im home mostly alone.those dust masks do nothing to stop inhale off lil micron sized germs..I have respiratory gear with different filter for fumes, smoke,etc..and those filters are not cheap..but can strap on tank also and block filtering. Got family that dives alot,well they rused too..so I had tanks but didn’t need them.
Too have SO many cops told sniper was up their , AND ITS WARM LETS GO IN TO GIVE GUY CLEAR TIME TO SET UP.? Are you kidding me! Thats my fallout zone lol 😂 no chopper and no snipers scanning seems very absurd.

For me, this goes beyond a True Crime Drama. The series was indeed made with the survivors in mind as the camera lens never lets you forget who the man is and what he has done to wreak havoc on the lives of the women he raped and assaulted.
The tension never lets up. The first episode had me so aggravated and tense that I had to get up and start cleaning to get rid of the stress. Later on, in about EP 3, I realized why. There are few still moments. People talk during a busy party, or meet in a busy cafe, or a busy police station, for example. There are always noticeable exterior sounds from conversations, cars, etc. People are always crossing the frame in all directions—think of a busy cafe where people are getting up out of seats to get their orders or exit and people coming in. This purposeful choice by the director keeps the visible tension active and when you notice you will find yourself frustrated as people try and talk and you just want to yell, “Shut Up!” so you can properly hear the person/woman trying to tell her story or better, to make sure the listener can pay attention. English speakers have the benefit of subtitles to help.
As a crime/detective/noir lover, this series fits all the bills. It is excellently made. I found no fault or moment where I thought, “Hey, a policeman would never do that, or overlook this.” The ineptness of the police throughout the years is unfathomable! I yelled at the screen many times. I got nauseated with how women were treated, even by other women, even up until the present time!
While I have shared how hard this series is to watch, it is worth watching. It is pure quality filmmaking and for me, it serves as a reminder to always be my own advocate and if I can’t be to satisfaction, find someone who can advocate for me! (For example, with doctors who don’t listen to women and think they are whining and to the inept police who aren’t taking you seriously!)

I am embarrassed to have not mentioned the SUBJECT of the show. The film geek in me was too excited. And I apologize, sincerely!
All of my being impressed with the filmmaking was about how the show depicted the delicate and horrifying subject matter: the rape of dozens of women over 30 years. I was uncomfortable due to the purposeful constant tension techniques of the director/writer to make the audience uncomfortable,; so as to say, “This is not to be taken lightly!” I was physically nauseated at times, as I mentioned. As the caption at the beginning of each episode states, some events aren’t true but at all times it is done to treat the survivors with respect. I doubt the inaction of the various police departments were fictionalized.
This series is a trigger warning in and of itself. If you are sensitive, you will be hurt, outraged and uncomfortable. If you are a survivor, I wouldn’t recommend watching this show at all. The rapist was caught. He was a family man, adored his children, was a football (soccer) coach for boys and the police department itself who he bewitched with his charms. I like to say this about sociopaths, “They are charming mofos.” Enzo may not have been a true sociopath but he was a very sick man and did sick things. The show does minimalize what you see so there is no exploitation of the women; however, there are many scenes with women trying to tell what happened to them, so you know the details of what you did not see. Again, the police departments were heinous. One policeman told a woman that she was “lucky” meaning that she wasn’t killed. These are the kinds of scenes that hit hard.
Having said all this, I super recommend this watching this series. It has stayed with me for 3 days now and if you can’t tell, I feel like writing a book about it! Sorry, not sorry.

Anvil: The Story of Anvil (2009)
I don’t understand how they never got the recognition they deserved. I guess the lack of proper management, along with what Lemmy mentioned, were the main reasons. Hopefully, with the internet, they can now make a living doing what they love. The problems they faced in the movie could be easily solved online today. Anyway, the movie was great, and even though I didn’t know the band beforehand, that didn’t make it any less enjoyable to watch.
