Doctor Zhivago (2002)

(I’m thinking you’re referring to the original one like I was, Link to that film in below comment)
But still now I’m curious what this film (mini-series) is like.

I mean the OG Dr.Z was so epic and heart crushing that this would have to be pretty decent to still get a 7 from imdb. So now I want to see both eventually.
greyfur 3 points 4 months ago.

Yuppers, was the original. Thanks for the link, just marked it ‘plan to watch’, and will get around to it when I can sit a good bit and just watch. Thinking I was simply too young at the time for something of this nature.

Good news, they actually have renewed it

After the final episode of the season, they even showed ups a bit from the second season, which also will see Lindy Booth return as Cassandra from the original series.

Good news. This (like a lot of other shows) needed another season. All too often the good ones get a curb kick.

It’s got that “cinemacity” ad floating around the screen! very distracgting. I’ll wait fer a cleaned view afore I watch it!

Dethkids 2 points 4 months ago.

That’s why i never watch these early ones when they are covered with floating adds (especially that stupid gambling add one that always interupts the movie at the worst possible moment, with an add sequence! lol shameless! won;t even speak their name either! lol)

Saw this conversation in the side bar, and the movie itself ‘triggered’ a memory of WAY back when I was a kid growing up. Had a friend was in like college or what we called ‘junior’ college, like the first 2 years, and I was something like 9 or 10 at the time, and he took me to go see this when it first came out.

He was really impressed by it, thought I would get a lot out of it. Frankly all I got was bored to tears, and couldn’t wait to leave. Have not tried to watch it again since, but maybe I should. I was probably way too young at the time to come even close to understanding what I was watching, heck, at that age, you’re still trying to figure out how to wipe your backside right. Much less trying to get anything meaningful from a movie that later turned out to be a classic.

Now that I’m older (so very much older…), might be a good thing to give the original movie another shot. Might still feel the same, but might actually get something from it.

As to anything else, good morning to all, an Carry on.

Are you seeing a pattern of my postings yet? They’re Irish movies to watch on St. Patrick’s Day. A few more actors that aren’t listed: Alan Rickman, Brendan Gleeson, Charles Dance, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers (19 years old at the time).

greyfur 1 points 4 months ago.

Pig, didn’t know you were Irish. I’m half French, half German, which is probably why I stay so conflicted all the time.🤣 I will add this, I have any more brain cells throw up the white flag, the inside of my head is going to start to look like a French cemetery. They are all trying to surrender.

Through this entire series, I haven’t cheered out loud once. And then Dumar pulls this stunt, I was hooting and hollering “GOOD FOR YOU DUMAR!!!!”, and Sisko inspite of all his and Dumars bad blood, without missing a breath “We have to help him”, a masterful tactician. What a fantastic show, the first half of season 7 was alot of isolated episodes and I was beginning to worry how they were going to wrap up so many huge story arcs, but the last 4 episodes have left me NEEDING to see the next, pretty sure I’ll have to finish this today. Dumar is a character I have slowly come to like over season 6 and 7, the man, is loyal not to Dukat, or the Dominion, or anyone, he answers to no higher power, he truly is only for his entire race, right down to his core. Finally, for all of Kai Winns power hungry, hypocritical, religious fanaticism, I actually feel terrible for what she has been going through in the last 4 episodes. Man what a great fukcing series.

I really enjoyed this series. I don’t care for all the comedians in it as Judi,Sara, and Lycett don’t appeal to me (Also Lycett looks huge. What happened?) but with Lou,Joe, and Bob you know it can’t go wrong and it didn’t. I’m very surprised Harriet lasted as long as she did. Naturally Jimmy would host which was good and I love Roisin as always it was nice she was there. Swallow was very annoying as always but Dyer was great when he came on for a bit! Daisy faces were too funny! (She looks much better than when I saw her on Taskmaster) Overall this was very good and they’ll have to pick the next cast very carefully to replicate it, if they plan to do so that is.

Besides the fact that I love they filmed this season in my hometown New York City, this season just gets better as it moves along. It’s so great to see Dexter tryna navigate moving around NYC lol. It ain’t Miami or some small upstate town in New York State Dex….welcome to the Big Apple hehe. The plot thickens as an example of “Lose lips, sink ships” is thrown into the mix as a curveball and I really hope that the season continues to build momentum as it moves forward. I’m so glad that this show is slated to be at LEAST 3 seasons with the potential for more depending on how it goes. On to the next.

Strange suggestion, do you mean that I squint with my eyes and ignore the post in my schedule to go to look at an other site next day? Or leave this beautiful site all together? It is hard to not hear it as your personally sneaky way to tell me to shut up or disappear. But I might be wrong?

This was a fun little show to watch. Owen Wilson just has that laid back relaxed vibe that he puts into all his shows. It would of been a much better season if you cut out all the Gen Z, woke, feminism garbage that ruined the middle of the season. If we get a season 2 hopefully all that crap is left out. Season 1 6/10 could of been a point higher without the middle of the season. The soundtrack really saved it.

Resident Alien (2021) S4 E9

Sure I’m happy to get to see it for free, and are grateful.. But how come just this show shows up first more than a day later than the others do? Dexter have the same release date and came yesterday. nearly every show come as announsed. But not this one. And it is every week. Is the release dates wrong or does it release in some obscure place close to some timeline? I find my self renewing and renewing the page and then the show slide in to previous week in the schedule and.. Please don’t take my WTF as an accusation or anger against any person I think is responsible, because it is not like that it is meant it, but more “what is going on with the this” in an emotional distressed way.

For sure. Yea I got ya, I meant Just no ‘Star caliber’ according to the masses and Hollywood gatekeepers.
Melissa George had been acting for awhile before Triangle.
Amityville Horror remake w/Ryan Reynolds was here first co-star Lead.
Liam Hemsworth hadn’t even done anything really, just known as Thor’s brother lol He never got a real roll til Hunger Games like almost 5 years later.

Triangle was also an Australian-British collab, Filmed in Queensland and it was mostly funded with like their version of PBS lol so I think getting Melissa n Liam who are both Aussies was a big deal for them and it gave her the chance to Lead a film by herself too

She was quite awesome in 30 days of night, which again, was a sleeper, but I mean, c’mon, spectacular, no? The old days are gone, my dude. The most we can hope for now is that the reboots aren’t straight trash. Now, even then, we have to deal with the ADHD, need it to be explained to u, in ur face, wanna be directors. “But it’s the person who’s on the edge of life who gets to decide”

I don’t know that Gary Farmer is suffering from a life-threatening illness, but his appearance strongly suggests it and that line being delivered by him really hit home as a result. Here’s hoping that he’s just lost a lot of weight but is otherwise in good health and the writers are using his appearance to full effect.

This has to be the best, most fulfilling sifi show since Fringe. Did it have an abrupt ending? Yes. Was it still good? Yes, to me. It will still be Firefly that made it seem done, even though they made Serenity. In continuity, doesn’t match up, but I’ll take what I can get, because none of us has a say to the big machine.

I saw this back when it first came out, and now probably 4-5 Extra times in the 20 years its been released.
One thing I’ve noticed is that (especially for a straight to DVD, from What I remember there was no theatrical release) Is that it always seems to pop up in discussions on cool flicks when ppl ask for one they haven’t seen before. And most ppl haven’t even heard about it.
Pretty impressive for a low budget, 20 yr old flick that was never in theaters with no known actors
