Not a fan of Glenn Ford? Fun fact (or should I say F—- fact): Rita and he had an extramarital affair that started during this film, and continued on and off through each others’ many marriages. He finally moved nextdoor to her in the 60s, and they kept it going till the early 80s.

Rita casts a spell here, she is witchy indeed. I love the scene where she initially “meets” Johnny and pretends to commit his name to memory…the sarcasm is sharp enough to cut a man’s throat!

What’s the point of “revitalizing” an area if you are just going to price everyone out of the area? If houses sell on average $250 - 350k why buy a derelict home at $130k knowing it’ll need nearly half a million in rehab? This makes zero sense to me.

It’s actually the Gilded Age of Architecture…
New money families obsessed over the European style and actually created a Reconstruction Era during the 1870s and the 1890s , in where they mixed all sorts of styles into their fashion, Art and Architecture …it was named …the American Renaissance.

I loved that era in history and read a lot about it. So much about this is fascinating, like Consuelo Vanderbilt divorced her Duke eventually, and his second wife was named — guess what — GLADYS. So many little easter eggs in this show. I just love it!

what an ending to the episode - Edith Wharton - wrote her novels about that era - always fascinating… yes, I am sure Mr. Russell will survive; Morgan Specter is too hot not to be in it anymore..

EDIT : ok it was only link 1, good movie - lots of vibes from the 3 originals - the series was a bit shaky but survived - the other movies between this one and the first 3 aged badly, I’d label this one a true successor to the last original Daniel KK - just hope they don’t try to overdo the remakes - it will only tarnish the IP

OK, now I see that they are mixing the lives of Jay Gould and the Vanderbilts. A Vanderbilt was never shot, but Gould was shot by a man over the control of the Erie railroad. He lived, so I’m sure George will live too. Bertha Russell is definitely Alva Vanderbilt, though.

Sometimes it’s nice to fight a battle where the odds are stacked against you and there is no chance of winning, but in reality you have a stacked deck so you can experiment with the hopeless situation and perhaps learn something that will help if, God forbid, that hopeless situation manifests outside the holodeck. Miles is a soldier with a heart and a conscience through and through, and so is Bashir, in all the ways a doctor with a complicated past can be. It’s sort of a poetic nod to how excellent they’re both written, imo at least.

This has been a recurring theme with Nog on more than one occasion, his fear of death and or the unknown. Previously he had said to Chief O’Brian just before they going to attack Jem Ha’dar settlement, “I’m afraid to die, I don’t wanna die, I wish Sisko were here”. Nog got an actual taste of his own mortality in the last episode, and the actors performance here portraying that realization, was top notch.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)

I love how they took this one back to the ‘50s. It gave the movie something extra that the modern comic-films just don’t have - (no stupid car chases, no foul language, no sex scenes, no shoot-outs, no killing). There is more to a good movie than just the cgi and this movie proved it. The cast was great, the story was engaging, and the menacing Galactus and his Herald were perfect. This one is worth watching again and again.

I’m glad Russel is gone. What a useless sob. Now that Amber is gone I can only root for American Steven and a little for Wes. I think Waz is and has always been a simp and just obnoxious.
Also Frank stinks for bringing that bow and missing both the lizard from a few feet away and missing them hogs.

I guess I’ll have to find this silent movie on youtube. Just read something interesting about this movie…..a woman in the crowd is seen speaking into a small handheld device that looks a whole lot like a cell phone. No idea where in the movie this lady pops up, but is there such a thing as time travel? You can’t go to the future because it hasn’t happened yet. If you had a choice, would you want to time travel or be invisible or be capable of doing both at the same time?

I’m glad Russell tapped. He was worthless! Absolutely worthless. I can’t remember if he’s EVER finished a challenge or not. I don’t believe he has. It was always something he was whining about. He’s not survivalist imo. Poor Amber. I was rooting for her. She has always been one of my favorites to watch. Waz and Steven are the only ones I am rooting for now. I wonder when Dan will come back? He’s one of my favs also to watch. I just couldn’t imagine being out in the bush in that heat right now. Nope nope nope!!
