What an outstanding expose into how Citizens United & the decision by SCOTUS to allow it has ruined the electoral process and endangered democracy. One only has to look at what is happening in America in 2025 to see/understand that…

Fun little romcom with some action mixed in. I enjoyed the watch. Rockwell is just such a star. 4.5 stars is crazy high for it though. A solid 6.5/10

Yes i think the first few eps of season3 started strongly but found this episode a huge letdown apart from the odd scene. Perhaps they’ve not got to many more seasons if they make many more eps like this but their is a lot of story to tell.

I grew tired of her character years ago. I haven’t watched SVU for a few seasons now. I rewatched all the L&O’s a few years ago and I was just really turned off by her character. I often find when I re-watch a series, that I originally saw when it aired initially, certain characters rub me the wrong way & others suddenly stand out as more important. I assume it’s me seeing them from a different perspective as my life experiences become more varied. IDK, it’s just something I noticed recently.

moongoddess 1 points 8 months ago.

As an SA survivor I can totally understand how actors or their characters can annoy a viewer. During my recovery decade I could not watch SVU at all. Not so much the characters or the actors faults. It was the stories being ‘too close to home’ for me at that time. Though, as first I thought it was cause the characters annoyed me. Even Ice-T was on my annoyance radar for a while. I stopped watching for a good decade. It didn’t seem to matter that I was also aware of Mariska’s development of an organization that helps and supports SA survivors and families.

I decided to binge watch SVU one summer from it’s first season and have fallen back in comfort with the stories featured and the messages they speak loudly about. My life experiences in the decade I hadn’t watching it obviously helped me see things in a different light. I love the philanthropy that Mariska has done for us SA Survivors and the support systems she developed for the SA community. Plus I’m a fan of her mother, Jayne Mansfield, and looking forward to watching the documentary film Mariska created in honor of her mom.

I was surprised when I saw his name under the writing credit. It was a good episode. Honestly, I can do without the Olivia appearances but that’s my personal feeling. I like Stabler on his own in this series.

Wow. This was deep. Impressive writing skills of Christopher Meloni. Hope they allow him to write more episodes and Mariska Hargitay gets more guest appearances through this season. This brought back so many original Bensler memories of their time working together on SVU.

Idiocracy (2007)
Gavinne 10 points 8 months ago.

The comparison is often made between the film Idiocracy and modern society and while I can see similarities reality is far worse. In Idiocracy we have a world filled with the ignorant and uneducated who have nearly driven themselves out of existence via their own stupidity. They find the smartest man on earth and ask him advice, and eventually try that advice out and it works. Yay the world is saved. In reality we have much the same sans listening to smart people. Idiocracy would be a utopia compared to reality.

A bit “late to show” when it comes to this one. I recently managed to binge watch this excellent Crime Drama series and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it. Titus Welliver was excellent as the titular character, the cast was terrific and each season of the series was a different storyline.
Looking forward to binge watching the Spin-off: “Bosch: Legacy”

This was a great series.. I suppose to younger viewers it would be outdated because it’s not about sex but instead is about growing-up and learning to be your own person.

snazzydetritus 1 points 8 months ago.

I watched it a few times when it was originally on tv. I didn’t care that it wasn’t about sex. The way I saw it, it was about a rather self-centered stalker-in-training who was desperate for any iota of attention…she repulsed me as a character.

Best Movie ever to preemptively see what Trump supporters can make us into if we buy into stupid!!!

mastershake 20 points 8 months ago.

What they can make us into - They DID! We are now a country where uneducated and ignorant people outnumber smart people. This movie perfectly demonstrates the power of stupidity can have on extremely gullible, morally hypocritical people who lost their critical thinking skills watching Foxnews.
