Not only is Dawna a prostitute, she’s pregnant and it’s her Birthday. Despite her violent pimp calling and looking for money she goes ahead and throws a birthday party for herself and invites four special clients. She tells them she’s pregnant and they all vie for the right to be called Daddy. As Dawna contemplates their respective sales pitches we are thrust back into her reality where her pimp rapes and beats her because she can’t pay him. As the pimp leaves Dawna bleeding on the floor we see the johns from the party follow and beat him, maybe to death? Will Dawna finally escape this life or is it a fantasy she has created to survive her reality? The audience can decide. |
