Tonally, it’s MR. & MRS. SMITH crossed with MEET THE PARENTS - a father/daughter/fiancé story with real stakes and relatable emotions, but it never loses its sense of fun. We can all relate to the tension that goes along with a father getting to know his future son-in-law. But when the father is a control freak that doesn’t trust his daughter to make her own decisions, it’s that much worse.
