Ángel is in a crucial time in his life, he’s 18, he must think about what to do for a living in the future and about deciding whether it’s worth to carry on with his couple relationship, which has become completely monotonous. Just finished high school, Ángel travels with two friends to an island with the excuse of shooting there an amateur short film, although they’re really looking for having fun in a relaxed atmosphere to find answers. When the three boys arrive to that place, they find a half oneiric half distressing scene. The island is still practically empty and thousands of butterflies belonging to “ephemenopteras” species have come to procreate and die there on those days. Throughout one night the three boys meet some people, Maria is one of them, who is a mature and enigmatic woman and works on the island as a teacher. The three boys will never forget the relation with this woman and she’ll also remember, because of them, some aspects of life she had completely forgotten. The three boys, throughout this night, become aware of the great similarity between the “Ephemeral” butterflies and the human beings.
